Electronics all work perfectly to include the very PAF-like VH-1s. Action is low and fast, neck is straight and notes ring out clear up and down the fret board. Guitar just had the frets polished and was set up with Ernie Ball 10-46s. 'Worst' case is it's a 1991,but the caps and pickups lead me to think otherwise. However, I've seen fully authenticated 1986 Burnys with '3' year pots, so my guess is the pots sat in a warehouse for a few years before being utilized for manufacture. The only odd part is the pots have a '1' year. The green caps and grey wire VH-1 pickups narrow it down to 1987-1991. Tough to pin-point exact date of manufacture on these (no serial #), but the lightning bolt logo and winged truss rod cover get us a date range. Neck profile and playability are identical to my '74 Gibson LP Custom. THIS ONE HAS THE FULL MAHOGANY BODY!!! Completely stock with tinted rosewood fret board, tons of fret life left, full binding to include the fret edges, and precision Gotoh tuners. I would list it as 'Excellent' but would rather err on the side of caution based on the Reverb grading system.
All black with gold hardware, this guitar has a few scuffs here and there, but generally very nice finish-wise (no blemishes on the top - just glare from sun). Gotten some info from some REVERB members and found links to the Burny catalogs - so here's a few edits: early '90's Burny RLC-70.
